District Overview
Grandview GC-4 School District (GGC-4) was established in 1914 and today proudly serves a diverse student population of approximately 4,000. The district has been fully accredited throughout its history and now includes four elementary schools (Belvidere, Butcher-Greene, Conn-West and Meadowmere), one K-8 school Martin City, one 6-8 grade middle school Grandview Middle School (GMS), one 9-12 grade high school Grandview High School (GHS) and the Center for Alternative Instructional Resources (CAIR). At the beginning of the 2009-10 school year High Grove Early Childhood Center was opened offering programs such as Head Start, Parents As Teachers and Success By 6 to name a few.
The district teachers, administrators and Board of Education are committed to maximizing the achievement and personal development of every student by offering a spectrum of education opportunities including music, sports, theatre, forensics and special interest clubs. Innovative curriculum offerings include Project Lead The Way (PLTW), engineering, science and technology curriculum at GHS, Gateway To Technology (GTT), pre-engineering program at GMS, ProStart, restaurant/food service career program at GHS, and gifted student curriculum opportunities.
