Hello Belvidere Parents/Guardians,

Our 2nd through 5th grade students completed the Performance tests in the areas of Reading and Math.  The 5th grade students also completed Science.  We will be sending the results home with a brief explanation on how to read the reports.  I hope you will be pleased with the progress your child is making in his/her learning.  The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade teachers will be analyzing the results to determine how best to instruct your child as we prepare for the MAP test in April.  In last month’s letter, I shared with you about the data for the Data Wall which is located in the foyer.  It provides you information for the Kindergarten Letter People, 1st through 5th grade Reading Series and Math Common Assessments and Writing results for all grade levels.  Please take an opportunity to check out the progress our school is making.
    
In addition to the academics that are going on at Belvidere, we have some fun assemblies lined up through the district partnership with Arts Partners.  The students will exchange valentines on Feb. 14th at their Valentines’ parties.  Please make sure to place the Literacy Family Fun Night on your calendar.  This great event along with the PTA Book Fair will be Feb. 28th at 6:00.  The 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade parents are invited to a very important MAP and ME Workshop from 6:00-6:30 that same night.  There will be flyers and more information sent home about these events.
