Bulldog Bulletin

From the Desk of
Principal Steve Scraggs

January 2015 Principal’s Perspective

Welcome back to school Grandview High School students, parents and staff. Second Semester promises to be fast-paced with many activities and accomplishments, culminating with Graduation in May.  I mention this because the conclusion of the winter season and spring blend together and move very quickly in the education world.  Graduation and the end of the school year will be upon us before we know it.  That being the case, we have a lot left to accomplish this year.

This time of year is good place to remind students of the importance of taking care of their laptop computers.  It seems that most people tend to believe that theft is the number one issue to watch for with laptops, but the truth is that the following are just as likely (if not more likely) to affect your student’s laptop:

  1. 1. Accidental damage due to neglect (dropping, spilling liquid, etc.)
  2. 2. Losing/misplacing
  3. 3 . Loaning it to someone

The best policy when it comes to taking good care of student laptop computers is simply to be cautious and use common sense.  Our student helpdesk, located in the GHS Library is available during school hours to assist if needed.

Finally, our 2015 Senior Scholarship Bulletin is scheduled be sent out this month.  Most scholarship applications require a combination of student writing samples and other information that pertains to student interests.  In Missouri alone, millions of dollars of available student scholarship and aid funding go unused each year.  Please encourage your student to focus on this wonderful opportunity to earn local and regional scholarships.
