  Dear Parents/Guardians and Students,

  We are excited to announce that we are now a Missouri-designated A+ School.  This will offer many post-secondary opportunities for our students.  A+ designation provides financial assistance along with Pell Grants, scholarships and other financial aid.

  For further information regarding the A+ Program, please contact our A+ Coordinator, Duane Kennedy, at 816-316-5807.

  It is hard to believe this year is ending.  We are excited for the end of the year programs that are planned. (Please visit our calendar to for date and times of activities) Many of you are preparing for your child’s graduation and senior events. 
  
  Graduation will be held at:
  Independence Event Center
  19100 E. Valley View Parkway
  Independence, Mo.
  Door will open at 6:00 p.m. and the ceremony will begin at 7:00 p.m. sharp.
  Tickets are required for admittance to the Event Center.

  We are also preparing to complete the End of Course testing.  Algebra I and English II testing will begin the week of April 30th.  Letters were sent home on April 20, 2012 if your student is attempting any EOC Test.

  The Advanced Placement Tests will be:
  Monday May 7  - Chemistry
  Thursday, May 10th - English Literature and Composition
  Friday, May 11th - U.S. History
  Monday, May 14th - Biology
  Wednesday, May 16th - Language and Composition
  
  Letters were sent home on March 27th if you have a student who is attempting any of the tests listed above.

  Final Exams will be May 14-May 17
  Monday May 14th, students will attempt exams in A1 and A5
  Tuesday May 15th, students will attempt exams in B2 and B6
  Wednesday May 16th, students will attempt exams in A3 and A7
  Thursday May 17th, students will attempt exams in B4 and B6

  There will be another opportunity to sign up for Summer School on Thursday, May 3, from 2:30 p.m.- 6:30 p.m. in the Grandview High School North Gym.  Once the maximum number of students enroll, remaining students will be placed on a waiting list.  Please take advantage of this opportunity.

  I would like to thank the Grandview Community for the opportunity to serve you for the past sixteen years.  I have learned so much from each of you and just would like to say, “Thank you for the memories”. We have laughed together, cried together and celebrated many happy occasions.  I will truly miss this wonderful community.
