Hello Band Family - Updated 4.13.12
Hello everyone! It is hard to believe we are already going full speed ahead on our 2012-13 Marching Band season.
Our Blue and Gold Brigade has been selected to perform the National Anthem at the May 20th Royals game. The Royals will face the Arizona Diamondbacks, and opening pitch is at 1:05. To help raise funds for their upcoming trip to Texas, the band has been given the opportunity to sell a block of tickets with a face value of $17 each for a reduced price of $12 each. Attached you will find the order form, in case your student has not brought his home or you need more than one copy. Orders and money are due back to the directors no later than April 20th.

Uniform fittings have begun for next season. Please watch for dates and times for shoes fittings. All 2012-13 members who do not currently have black marching shoes that fit will need to be fitted in the times allotted so we can get shoes ordered and broken in before the Royals game. We should be requesting sizes for their shirt/short sets at fitting time as well.
REMINDER
APRIL BAND NEWS!
Hello again, all!
Can you believe it is already April and Marching Band Season Fall 2012 is already taking shape? If your student is signed up for the trip PLEASE remit your April payment. We have only had a handful of parents contact us to schedule a date other than the first for payment. New parents, be assured if your child has signed up for the trip, they have qualified for marching band.
Also, the first installment of Marching Band fees for 2012 is now due. If you are not sure what your monthly payment is – please reply and ask. The total should be somewhere between $24 and $34 per month.
Thank you to all who have made their payments or arrangements so we can stay on track. This is beneficial to all the families involved in the program.
PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS – marching band shoe fittings are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, April 17 – 5:00pm to 7:00pm GHS band room
Wednesday, April 18 – 2:30pm to 5:00pm GHS band room

F.A.Q.s:
What is the Grandview Band Boosters?
The Grandview Band Boosters is an organization composed of parents, staff, alumni, businesses, and friends that support all the bands (marching band, orchestra, symphonic,
freshman, jazz, and middle schools) by raising money to purchase equipment, uniforms and items beyond what the school music budget provides, transportation to
competitions and events, and the planning, organization and preparation of food for these events. Band Boosters takes great pride in providing money to fund music
scholarships for graduating Grandview High School Band musicians.
How is money raised?
Money is raised through memberships, corporate sponsorships, spirit wear sales, and fundraisers throughout the year. You are invited to volunteer your time and skills to
support these activities.
Why should I join?
By becoming a Band Booster member, you have the wonderful opportunity to help our young musicians have a more enjoyable and rewarding school band experience. You
will make new friends and gain a sense of satisfaction in knowing that you have enriched the Grandview Band community.
What do Band Booster volunteers do?
Grandview Band Boosters volunteers have a wide variety of opportunities available to them. As a group, we help move pit instruments and director platforms on and off the
field for the home football games. Volunteers are always needed to provide cookies or brownies for competitions as well as attend competitions when their schedule allow.
Volunteers are called upon to provide home baked items to sell as fundraising efforts after each concert at the high school and both middle schools. The list is endless but the
fun knows no bounds!
